Smoking Areas at Newark Liberty International Airport

If you’re passing through Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) and want to smoke, note that smoking is prohibited inside all terminals, including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vapes.
Each terminal has designated outdoor smoking areas located outside the buildings. These are the only spots where smoking is allowed, and you must remain at least 25 feet from any entrance or exit.

  • Terminal A – Smoking areas are outside; follow the signs or ask airport staff for directions.

  • Terminal B – Look for clearly marked smoking zones outside the terminal.

  • Terminal C – Head outside to find the designated smoking spots.

There are no indoor smoking lounges, so if you exit the terminal to smoke after security, you’ll need to go through screening again to re-enter.

Smoking in non-designated areas may result in fines. When in doubt, check the signage or ask airport personnel.
